Getting Started
Let’s get you going so you can be ready for a fresh start with your facial routine. When it comes to using essential oils, you probably already know not to use plastic bottles, but you’ll also want to use dark-colored glass to preserve the integrity of your solutions. These amber glass bottles are perfect. They’re travel-sized and also have a nifty spray nozzle for awesome portion control. Seriously, just a little spritz goes a long way!
The Best for Skin Rejuvenation

The Recipe to DIY
In your amber spray bottle, add 2 drops of Patchouli, 4 drops of Ylang Ylang, and 2 drops of Lemongrass. If you want to change up the scent, you can add 2-3 drops of Tea Tree, Lavender, Cedarwood, or Frankincense. The same as when making your own perfume, it’s best to start from the day before so that your essential oils can bond over the course of twenty-four hours to create a synergy.
This way the molecules can provide the same level of results each time you use your face wash rather than a constantly changing disproportion.
In addition to the combined benefits, this lipid is an excellent general use carrier that helps dissolve and remove bacteria, makeup, and any other yucky buildup.
You’ll likely recognize this next step if you made your own roll-on, and that’s adding a little carrier oil. The Oil + Glass recipe calls for Young Living’s V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex, and if you use that you will pack the power of six beautifully fatty oils into each face wash. You can always substitute grapeseed oil if you don’t have the V-6™ on hand, but it’s absolutely worth getting if you can.
After that, fill your bottle a little less than one-third of the way with Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Castile Soap. You’ll see a whole rainbow of options, but you won’t retain the lovely fragrance of your essential oils combination if you add the scented castile soaps, so stick with the baby blue. Dr. Bronner’s is safe yet strong with incredible foaming action, so only use as much as you need, and you’ll have plenty left for many other batches of face wash. Fill the rest of your bottle with water, gently shake to combine, and you’re set.
